This has been on my mind a lot lately. It makes me sad that there are sick and cruel people out there that are willing to take people from their families and lives and sell them for money into sexual acts/slavery. Human trafficking doesn’t just occur overseas, it occurs here in the USA, it occurs everywhere and it is sick and disgusting that not enough people seem to care or are even aware of it. This might only get a few notes, but I wish more people were doing something about this.
The only charity I know you can donate to is :

If you have anymore feel free to add.
Remember to focus on the positive, for we all have something about ourselves to be proud of.
If I have one piece of advice for young, aspiring activists, it is to always hold on to the joy, always make it fun. If you lose that, you have lost the whole battle.
Officials say many teen trafficking victims in LA come from the county’s foster care system. The traffickers then use the girls to recruit others from foster care and shelters.
Shop the UN-SALE to Help Fight Slavery
via www.CharityGiftMarket.com:
We’re MARKING PRICES UP on Black Friday thru Cyber Monday to RESCUE ONE WOMEN from Modern Day Slavery
We offered sales, and our customers resisted.
(CharityGiftMarket.com is a marketplace where 501c3 Charities post and sell products to raise support for their cause.)
When we offered discounts, our shoppers realized that the charity would make less money if they purchased the products on sale. When we told customers we RAISED prices and attached a specific outcome to their purchase, they loved it! We called it the UN-SALE.
On the weekend of Black Friday thru Cyber Monday, while some shoppers are camping out to access the biggest sales of the year, we want to excite customers about paying MORE for their products with another UN-SALE with the main goal of rescuing at least ONE women from modern day slavery.
All products from Made By Survivors will be marked up, with the goal of securing enough funds for them to rescue one woman from a brothel in India. We are working with Made By Survivors and they are committing all funds generated during that weekend from their sales to rescue women. Once a woman is rescued, ongoing employment and support are in place for her continued support.
While rescuing one woman is our main focus, other charities will participate in the UN-SALE to support their own causes (i.e. one product may provide food to a child in Malawi for one month).
Shoppers can visit www.CharityGiftMarket.com from November 23rd - November 26th to shop at the UN-SALE.

USD Town Hall Forum on Human Trafficking with Actress Jada Pinkett-Smith
Today I went to USD with my sister to learn more about Prop 35. If we vote yes to Prop 35 it will be the first step in ending human trafficking in CA (however human trafficking is nation wide), it especially gets the law to side with the victims. Here are some links. Get informed on Prop 35 and human trafficking.

Shout out to my sister Shelley for inviting me to this event! :D
ACTIVISM WORKS
WalkFree has been pushing global fashion brand Zara to boycott cotton from Uzbekistan due to problems with slave labor in the work force there.
Zara has complied.
Now WalkFree are asking supporters to send their thanks to Zara, and to keep the pressure on for them to do more.
